At 46,000 students, the University of Houston is the third largest university in Texas, with an exceptionally unique and diverse student body. It's unlike any other student demographic or campus ministry setting in the state. In the middle of the campus, the A.D. Bruce Religion Center has a chapel, meeting rooms, and office space for various campus ministries. We were among the group of charter denominations to contribute to the costs for the construction of the building in 1964, and to champion the place of the Church in the midst of the University... very Lutheran! In fact, our office space is the first campus ministry off the entrance lobby. Every day that we're active on campus we meet new students who are faith-curious and not yet followers of Jesus.
